Led Zeppelin classic tops list as nation’s favourite rock song

Stairway To Heaven has been announced by digital radio station Absolute Classic Rock as the UK’s most loved rock song.

The song, which was released in 1971, gained a new following after featuring prominently in recent popular culture. None more so that in the hit 90s movie Wayne’s World where Wayne was told he could not play the song in the music shop.

The track, which is a key benchmark for any wannabe guitarist, topped the poll with The Who’s Won’t Get Fooled Again coming in at number two.
