Living with a guitar legend

It was only last year when Brit-American musician Slash decided to file for divorce from Perla Hudson, his wife of 10 years - not the first time the couple have been to court over the past few years, as we mentioned in our blog about partying. But now it seems like all is rosy again – well, not Guns ‘n’ Rose-y like many fans would ideally like it to be.

It has been a mad two years for Panic! At The Disco. Google offers tribute to true guitar legend

Posted on 9th June 2011 by Daniel Higginbotham in News

If you have happened to visit the Google search page today then you couldn’t have failed to notice that the image for the search engine has been changed to represent a guitar. This is because the legendary Les Paul, a name entwined within rock’n’roll heritage, would have celebrated his 96th birthday today.

The man who set the standard for solid-bodied guitars passed away two years ago and the homage paid to him by the search giant was certainly a nice touch.

For everyone who loves to rock out, you must surely have come across one of these iconic classic guitars that Les Paul invented. Even if you haven’t heard of the Fender Telecaster or Gibson Explorer by name, you will probably have seen Metallica’s James Hetfield or Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones wielding one of these beauties.

New beginning for the Chili Peppers

Posted on 9th June 2011 by Adele in Album Release, News

Lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Anthony Kiedis has spoken for the first time about the band’s upcoming new album, their first release in five years.

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone, Kiedis reveals the process that they went through before deciding on Josh Klinghoffer to be their replacement guitarist for John Frusciante.

The 31-year old Klinghoffer is no stranger to the band anyway, having played with RHCP on their last world tour.

With the 14-song ‘I’m With You’ album set for release on the 30th of August we are all waiting to find out if the band can cope without the songwriting and axe grinding skills of one of the best guitarists of all time.

The good news is that this is a challenge the band are already looking forward to, with a tour likely to be announced soon after the album release.
