Talk About Rock Music

Harmonix and MTV Games, along with distribution partner Electronic Arts, have announced that its music videogame Rock Band 2 will be available in the UK on the Playstation 3 platform from March 27 2009. The Nintendo Wii version will follow a month later on April 24. Rock Band 2, the sequel to Harmonix/MTV’s blockbuster hit Rock Band has already been available on the Xbox 360 for some time, but now other video game users will be able to see it for themselves.

The game faces stiff competition this time around as Guitar Hero World Tour stole back some of its market share by adding drums and vocals to the obligatory guitar, just before Christmas.

Rock Band 2 will allow you to export most of the songs from the original Rock Band disc. The new version of the game features the largest music catalogue of any music-based videogame to date with more than 100 songs and more classic rock artists including AC/DC, Guns ‘N Roses, Bob Dylan, Pearl Jam and Motorhead (see list below).

Gamers can also preview and download new music from the Rock Band online music store, which currently offers complete albums with more than 500 tracks, with new content added weekly.
