Dave Groll from Rock band The Foo Fighters, was live on Radio one today talking to Chris Moyles and comedy Dave. They discussed a very funny incident that happened after a gig in Bristol.
Chris Moyles and the rest of the radio one team went the hotel that Dave Groll was staying after the gig hoping to meet up with him. When they got there however, Dave Groll was not at the hotel, so they decided to go and have a drink in the Hotel bar, along with their personal security guard.
Chris said of his security guard “ he has been our security guard for years but in all the years he has been with us he has never actually had any incidents to deal with and we just see him as one of the us, and we get on really well with him.”
So the night went on and Chris Moyles along with a number of people who had been to see the Foo Fighters gig earlier that night continued to enjoy themselves and have a few drinks. Then out of nowhere a guy dressed in a black hoddie with the hood pulled up over his head, ran up to Chris Moyles, put his hand on his chest and shouted ‘Chris’.
In an instant Chris Moyles security guard grabbed the guy by the neck and proceeded to throw he into a nearby table, where there were some other people drinking. The guy in the hoodie flew across the table smashing bottles and glasses on his way.
The guy then dragged himself up and pulled his hoddie from over his head, to Chris Moyles amazement the guy in the hoodie was Dave Groll from the Foo Fighters!
To make matters worse, Dave Grolls mum was there and assumed he was getting beaten up by a crazy fan.

A reward has been offered by REM for the safe return of a guitar belonging to Peter Buck. The band are in the middle of a world tour at present and were playing a gig in Helsinki this week. The Rickenbacker guitar was stolen from the stage immediately after the show.
The guitar has been used in both studio recording and for live shows since 1982 when the band released their debut Chronic Town EP. It holds great sentimental value to Peter and the band and understandably they are keen to see it returned in one piece. They are therefore offering a handsome reward for information leading to its safe return, or else. . .
Sadly it seems that fans will go to any lengths to obtain a piece of band memorabilia, even if the band aren’t ready to part with it. In fact, only last month Adrian Smith, guitarist with Iron Maiden fell foul of a similar act. His guitar was taken after their gig in Athens. The band are offering a signed tour jacket and a thank you letter from Smith as incentive to return the stolen guitar.
You can never really replace a personalised guitar that has sentimental value to its owner - these days you can get any classic guitar engraved by laser marking making it personal and unique.
The new Metallica Album ‘Death Magnetic’ will be released this Friday, amid a flurry of publicity after a long wait, for this, their ninth studio album. Their last album, St Anger was pretty much slated universally.
This new offering is set to return us to the good old days of ‘And Justice For All’ and the return of the hitherto absent guitar solos and longer songs. It will be a big ask, after such a long absence but I have every faith that they will pull it out of the bag and get back on form. They will have to! With so many fans left disappointed after St Anger and such a long break from recording, they have a lot to prove , even to us die hard fans.
Personally I won’t be waiting for the September 12th release date and will be receiving my digital version of the album at midnight on release day. How? I signed up at Metallica’s new website. Now I can purchase the album and be listening to it on my iPod before anyone else creeps out of their coffins to brave the sunlight and venture to the shops!
The site also boasts features a feast of exclusive low downs from the band and even fly on the wall footage of studio recordings. There are live concert downloads, new and archived pictures and competitions to win tickets (and flights) to see the band perform around the globe.
